Gustavo Eydelsteyn Successful Showing at TechEd 2009
Gustavo Eydelsteyn, Co-founder

I just returned from TechEd in Los Angeles, where the venue was packed with developers, IT administrators, DBA's, and other technology professionals. There were 142 sessions just in the Developer Tools, Languages and Frameworks track. While I didn't have an opportunity to attend all of them, it was enjoyable to interact with this year's attendees and other exhibitors to talk "shop".

The ComponentOne booth was well positioned and to deliver what everyone was looking for we held non-stop demos. We had an expanded staff who showed everything from our new SharePoint Web Parts to the latest components in our 2009 Studio Enterprise release, most notably Studio for iPhone. We attracted quite a crowd including representatives from Microsoft and the media.

One of the highlights included Maps for SharePoint, which won a Code Project Readers' Choice Award. This product provides rich, deep-zoom mapping in Microsoft SharePoint and can connect to SharePoint list or SQL Server data to plot geographic coordinates with "smart pins". More excitement was felt at the show when we found lucky attendees wearing their "Control Freak" pins that they received at the ComponentOne booth and awarded them each a Studio for Silverlight license.

The show lives on at http://www.msteched.com/online/home.aspx where you can access many of the interviews, videos, and blogs from the event.
