Words from the Editor
Gustavo Eydelsteyn ComponentOne Means Action
Gustavo Eydelsteyn, Co-founder
Ernest Hemingway once said, "Never mistake motion for action." While other companies are showing some motion towards Silverlight with press releases, Web site announcements, and a few proof-of-concept components, ComponentOne is fully committing to Silverlight with its feature rich suite of innovative components.
ComponentOne Studio for Silverlight is by far the most complete suite of Silverlight components anywhere. While Microsoft Silverlight 2 is still in beta, Microsoft is planning to release Silverlight 2 in the upcoming months. Until then, our plan is to release monthly updates with ground-breaking technology. In June 2008, we introduced seven new controls (menu, window, message box, accordion, file uploader, expander, and header content control) marking the M2 release. Last month (M3), we continued our promise and brought eight new controls (map control, gauges, book control, rotating cube, drop-down control, range slider, and drag-drop manager) to the Studio for Silverlight suite.
Studio Enterprise customers will receive a complementary version of the Silverlight components as long as their subscription is active at the time of the release. Non-Studio Enterprise customers can purchase this new suite at a discounted price.
