Words from the CTO

Bernardo Castilho Touching the Future
Bernardo Castilho, Chief Technology Officer

It seems everywhere you turn these days the word touch comes up. When I was a kid, I recall being told not to touch everything. Now "Touch" is part of our everyday lives, whether you have a touch-enabled mobile device or not. From checking in at an airport kiosk to ordering food to go, touch is now ubiquitous. It amazes me to see toddlers navigating around touch devices with ease and their expectation that every device is touch enabled.

So how do we combine what we know, with what is or may be expected of us and our apps in this next chapter of our lives? Adapt, that is the answer and it applies to the business we are in as well.

With the 2013 v2.5 release of Studio Enterprise, ComponentOne makes it easier to adapt to this changing environment with the introduction of TouchToolkit for WinForms. I remember how remarkable touch interaction felt when I first encountered it - I hope you feel the same way when you try TouchToolkit for WinForms. The first of its kind in the industry, this cutting edge toolkit allows you to enable touch and gesture support for your entire application without jumping through hoops.
